Bella Berserk
For an evening of fun, frocks and frolics…
It has to be the one and only Bella Berserk!
A Message From Bella Berserk…
Now, before we start, let’s get one thing straight…
I’m not a transvestite, trans-sexual or a cross-dresser, I am simply a comedy entertainer with too much fashion sense for one gender!
What made me decide on a career in high heels and sequins? The truth is, I don’t know why I do it. I didn’t plan it, it just happened. Drag is like a drug, once you get a taste for it, it’s delicious – before you know it… you’re hooked!
There’s something amusing about a man being the best dressed girl at the party!
It’s wicked, fabulous and the audience gets caught up under the spell of it all, so I guess that’s the appeal… and it certainly pushes buttons.
The more I think about it, the less surprised I am that I ended up doing this for a living and as long as you continue to come to see me, I will remain expressing myself by being fantastic!
Before Bella Berserk; I started my professional career as a dancer, touring the UK with my own troop.
I then evolved my other creative passion, becoming a freelance commercial fine artist; painting portraits of Hollywood stars, recreating old renaissance paintings for private collectors and for commercial use, providing illustrations for various magazines and children’s story books.
I trained at the London College of Fashion and earned my degree in Theatre Studies, becoming a professional make-up artist. After a brief period as a photographic make-up assistant for glamour magazines, I used the talents I had acquired to good effect in the television and theatre industry, as a special effects make-up artist and wig maker.
Bitten by the entertainment bug, I later embarked on my own special creation, know today as Bella Berserk! Starting with a Drag project called ‘Sluts with Nuts’, and then taking my one woman comedy cabaret show to all four corners of the United Kingdom – from Scotland to Skegness, Swansea to Swindon, Guildford to Guernsey, Ireland to the Isle of Man. The show has been received with great critical acclaim internationally too, delighting audiences in Cyprus, Corfu, Rhodes, Spain, Denmark, Holland, India, Egypt, France and Turkey.
I’m very hands on with the show. I carefully research and design all of my stage costumes, in-fact, everything you see on that stage has been either made, styled or designed by myself, from the wigs, the make-up, the jewellery and the costumes. Everything must look right or there’s no point in doing it. This is a profession where presentation is everything!
As well as my solo show, I have embarked upon being involved with stage touring productions such as;
‘The Slinky Minky Show’ and ‘Funky Feathers’. I produced and directed ‘The Outrageous Revue’. I even hosted ‘Laid Bare Cabaret’ and of course ‘Bella Berserk’s Leading Ladies Show’.
I have appeared on many television shows including; Esther Ranzen, Trisha, Ruby Wax, Alan Carr, MTV, Anglia television, Channel 5 and London Tonight.
I have hosted and performed for many celebrity functions, rubbing shoulders with Pet Shop Boys, Danny La Rue, Ozzy Osbourne, Katie Price, Gordon Ramsay, Chas n Dave, Cheryl Baker, Queen plus many others.
Over the years I have worked in association with many charities including; The British Heart Foundation, The Teenage Cancer Trust, Breast Cancer Care, Cancer Research, RSPCA, Marie Currie, Men-cap, Haven’s Hospice to name a few…
I’m having an amazing time, I’ve met a lot of inspiring and influential people throughout my career, and I consider myself fortunate to be pursuing a profession that I absolutely adore! It allows me to be creative, plus it delights and amazes the audience. It’s like a snow globe that shakes people out of themselves, liberates and releases tension with joy and laughter, a little glitter never hurt anyone!
I don’t use Bella as a weapon or power trip, it’s not my intention to upset people. I simply encourage the audience to let go, not take themselves too seriously and to laugh at life.
If you get offended easily and you’ve had a personality bypass, maybe you shouldn’t be out after dark anyway.
I don’t claim to be at the top of my game but i’m certainly nowhere near the bottom.
I don’t hold the ultimate key to success, but I do know that the key to failure is trying to please everyone.
I want to thank those of you out there who have stuck by me. Many of you travel miles to see me perform, and keep supporting the show by coming back for more. Thanks for your kind words, respect and love! You’re the reason I continue to put on these ridiculously uncomfortable heels, the glitzy gowns, face up and lace up, pad out and tuck in – I do it all for you!
Sit back and enjoy the magic, let me take you on a journey where fantasy becomes reality and real life is a figment of your imagination.
Remember…
‘We have one life, there’s no return and no deposit’
